Those who know the owner, John E. Lohr personally can understand why he has the recipe and technique for barbeque down to a science. He started out cooking hogs and pigs on a grill for private parties over 45 years ago. He built up quite a reputation many years before he ventured inside and opened the Pig-N-Steak.
Our customers enjoy home made cole slaw, potato salad and baked beans. We cook everything home made. Our salad dressings are made fresh and you can taste the freshness every time.
We also take pride in our steaks which are cut fresh and never frozen. We don’t list ‘em on our menu so we don’t have to freeze them.
If you are in the mood for a good old fashioned burger, try our Mountaineer Platter. It is a meal in itself. It’s an 8 oz fresh ground beef burger served on a Kaiser roll with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, onion, cheese and bacon. The burger is served with French fries and cole slaw.
We are well known locally (also by our “regular” tourists) for our fries. You get a heaping basket of shoe string fries for just $2.50.
We have a banquet room in the restaurant and can accommodate parties of up to 40 people. We are very flexible and can serve off of our menu or do special orders by request.
